SOUTH AUCKALAND LAND.
MEETING OF THE BOARD. The .volume of 'business before the South Auckland Land Board, -which met yesterday, the drown Commissioner (Mr. H. JI. Skeet) presiding, occupied the whole day and up till noon to-day. In. addition to tlie business dealt with, reported in yesterday's "Star," 38 ad-, ranees to dissharged soldiers for stocking.and improving land were approved, three . refused, and one adjourned. Eleven applications for postponement of p»yment.of rent were approved and one refused. Owing to non-payment of rent, non-fulfilment of conditions, or at request, 13 sections were forfeited ,and in another case a previous decision to forfeit was withdrawn, the holder having in the meantime remitted rent arrears. Two soldier tenants were granted leave of absence for definite terms. Eighteen applications for land were approved, one refused, and one adjourned. Three more »pplications for transrera were recommended. Thirds were gTantcd to the Tji»ni£s, Opotiki, Waitorno.. and Ohinem\iri County Councils. Licenses for timber floating were renewed in two casee, and the assignment °V 4 license by a company in liquidation 'o.another company was approved, -while andther license was extended for a jeaiv
