COUNCIL BY-ELECTION.
POLLING DAY TO-MORROW. The election of a member to fill the seat on the City Council, left vacant by the death of the Hon. P. J. Nerheny, will take place to-morrow. There are three candidates, Mr. G. Davis, who was formerly one of the Labour representatives on the council, and was defeated at the last municipal election. Mr. E. W. Inder, who headed the list of unsuccessful candidates at the poll la&fc April, and Mr. E. A. Clark, formerly a member of the Waihi Borough Council. There will bo twenty-three polling places in the whole of the city area, and the noure of the poll will be from 9 a.m. till 7 p.m.
