» HAMILTON" BUILDER'S CLAIM. (By Telegraph.—Own Correspondent) HAMILTON - , this day. A collision which took place befcwee* two motor cars in front of the ''Waikate Times" office, Hamilton, on May If* of this year, was recently the subject of an action at law in the Hamilton Magistrate's Court, when Henry M. Hollcrw, builder, of Hamilton, sued Edward James Watkins. painter, of Cook Street, Hamilton East, for £83 10/6 damages. Plaintiff alleged that ho was driving hie car along the correct side of Victoria Street, in a southerly direction, when defendant negligently drove Us car out of Collingwood Street straight across the thoroughfare towards a* alley-way on the opposite side. Of the ; amount claimed £25 was for general j damages, the balance being for repairt and £9 for the hire of taxis. His Worship found the defendant dri 1 not exercise sufficient care in crossing from one side of the road to the other, j and awarded plaintiff £73 10/B damages, i costs £3 5/, witnesses' expenses £3 4/, I and solicitor's fee £4 13/6. Mr. J. ,t j Strang appeared for plaintiff, and Mr. I E. H. Northcroft for Watkins.
