ONEHUNGA'S NEW WHARF.
TO COST £95,000 TWELVE MONTHS SHOULD SEE WORK STARTED. "Within the next twelve months if we can raise the money," stated the deputy-chairman of the Auckland Harbour Board (Mr. H. R. Mackenzie). In answer to a question as to when work on the new wharf at Onetitinga would be commenced. The board yesterday approved the modified plans drawn by the engineer (Mr. W. H. Hamer) after consultation with the harbour masters of Auckland and the Manukau. It Was at first suggested to put up a structure costing over £100,000. but the wharf and shed the 'board has finally approved will run into 0)5,000. A certain amount of dredging will have to be done, and the Hapai will be able to get on with this part of the scheme in from six to nine months, when she has finished the work on -which she is now engaged. Both Mr. E. R. Davis and Mr. M. H. Wynyard I emphasised the urgency of the need for a new wharf, and the deputy-chairman agreed.
