OUR LATE ENEMIES.

(To the Editor.) Sir, —Please allow nic to answer '•Returned Soldier's" letter criticising my attitude towards our late enemies. I am not going to defend my title to bu a Christian; that 1 leave to God, my conscience, and the Judgment Day. Personally 1 bear no malice to our late enemies, although they put mc to a lot of suffering and privations, and in a way, being away at the war, ruined ray prospc«t«. But I don't think it would bo a Christian act to give work and lietter conditions to our late enemies when some of our returned men and own country-people are out of work, some living in semi-starvation. I say look after our own people first and then talk about helping others.—l am, etc, RETURNED DIGGER.
