Sir,—l wish to point out to •'Returned Soldier" that he '"lias sadly misunderstood the Qiristlaja (teaching^ , Tsia[ Bible teaches God forgets when He forgives, and we are told to pray to do likewise, but God commands the sinner to repent of and to confess his ems. "He that covereth his sins shall not prosper; •but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy." As far as Germany is concerned we have no evidence she admits her guilt, and plenty of evidence she is preparing to do the same thing again only in a more horrible way. A cable from the "Times," published in your issue a few days ago, proved this. If God demands confession of sin ■ and forsaking it before He forgives, He does not ask us to forgive either a man or a nation that docs neither. Christ said: "If thy brother trespass against theo, ■rebuke him; and if he repent, forgive him." This namby pamby talk of forgiving and forgetting the crimes of Woody men who are still thirsting for revenge ie neither Christian aior in keeping with common sen;e. —T am, etc.. I S. L. P. RTMMER.
