Elgin, the cultured and cathedral city ; of the Xortli of Scotland, has had ita sliare of New Zealand visitors this year, for not only were the Chief Justice and Lady Stout visiting it, but for the first time in its history, it had a flying week the pilot being Lieutenant James Woods, formerly of the N-Z.E.F. He lias been giving a series of the flights to the local inhabitants in an Avro biplane G—EAVI. Originally only booked to stay a week-end, the pilot remained for a week, so great has been the demand for his services, and horrible to relate, the quid fowk of Elgin even went flying on Sunday in spite of the thought of their pious forbears lying there in the cathedral burying ground hclow—or of the good gowden (or in these degenerate days, paper) guinea per flight.
