DEBTS TO BRITAIN.
CANCELLATION URGED. LONDON, November 7. As a further development of the campaign, which, has lately appeared to meet with a friendly reception from an influential section of the Press, a meeting of the British Committee of the International Chamber of Commerce passed a resolution, moved bj- Mr. Walter Leaf (formerly vice-president of the London Chamber of Commerce, and president of the Institute of Bankers) and seconded by Mr. Arthur Balfour (formerly president of the Sheffield Chamber of Commerce), urging upon the Government the desirability of negotiating with the view of obtaining the benefits which would accrue if the Allied war debts to Britain were either reduced or cancelled.
