PARLIAMENT'S SANCTION.

In the House of Commons Mr. Lloyd George, replying to a question, made it cleat- that ii a settlement was reached in the l r ish Conference the terms would be submitted for Parliamentary sanc-ru-i Every provision would have to be ratified bv Parliament and incorporate in an Act of Parliament. The mrties thereto would be representative,, !,f the Irish people, duly elected under an Act of Parliament and of the British Government.— (Renter.)

PRESS ASKED TO WITHDRAW.
LONDON, October 28.
Lte Valcra, presiding at the Sinn Fein National Congress at Dublin, which was attended by 2000 delegates, asked the Press to withdraw in order that t'here mi"lit be free discussion at the present critical juncture. The delegates would be hampered if their utterances were open to misrepresentation outside. They did not want to interfere with the work of the peace conference, lie said that, notwithstanding the enemy's strenuous hunt for Sinn Fein money, not a penny had fallen into their bands.—(A. and N.Z.
