SOVIET APPROACHES MARTOPF (Roccltml 2,: M p.ui.i LONDON, October 28. Reports from Copenhagen conlirm rumours that the Soviet is seeking reconciliation with the Mcnsheviks, whose leader, MartofT, has been invited to Moscow to undertake negotiations. Many fires are occurring in Petrograd, for which the Bolsheviks blame counterrevolutionaries. Moscow is so overcrowded that a million persons are living in 160,000 rooms, mostly dilapidated.—(A. and N.Z.)
