Captain Fowler left here at daylight in an endeavour to make a one-day flight to Auckland, stopping at Timaru and Wellington. i Later in the day Captain Fowler tele- j graphed from Timaru stating that the, first stage of the flight of 22S miles was j covered in two hours at an average speed , of 114 miles an hour.
