WINTER SHOW SUGGESTED

FOR AUCKLAND. A. AND P. ASSOCIATION. ARRANGEMENTS FOR DECEMBER. An executive meeting of the Auckland Agricultural and Pastoral Association was held yesterday afternoon, the president, Mr. E. D. McLennan, presiding. Arrangements for the forthcoming show in December and proposals to hold Royal Championship 6hows throughout the Dominion and a Winter Show in Auckland were dealt with. Messrs. Tansley and C. F. Marks, representatives of the Auckland Trotting Club, discussed the matter of the show authorities using the Trotting Club's grounds at Alexandra Park for part of the December show. P A report of the Showgrounds Committee stated that the Trotting Club's luncheon rooms and appointments, and that part of the Trotting Club's grounds lying parallel to Green Lane would be available. The question of the use of the centre of the Trotting Club's grounds was left for a combined meeting of the committee to be held in six weeks' time on the grounds.

The president reported that the Ground Committee had met the Campbell Trustees and Major Wallingford, and had agreed upon a site for the military hutment for Senior Cadet use to ■be erected on the Epsom Showgrounds. The trustees had also agreed to allow the Show Committee to put a gate on to tfco Cornwall Drive from the Showgrounds.

It was resolved that in horse classea a horse may be entered in any class for which it* is eligible, but that having taken a first prize shall thereafter he debarred from competing in any other class in the same section during the show, the limitation not to apply to special classes or teams or pairs.

The president gave notice of motion that at the sext meeting the question of holding a Winter Snow be considered. The secretary reported that Stonex Bros. (Newton) had given a special prize of £10 for the cow giving the greatest weight of milk during one of the show days, the butterfat test not to •be 'below 3.25 per cent, the object being to encourage the type of cow most suitable for town supply purposes.
