ALLEGED THEFT.
GOODS VALUED AT £427. THREE MEN CHARGED. REMANDED FOR A WEEK. *" A party of three men, William Campton (43), Willie Lanksheer Waterg (36), and Herbert Cummins (41 V were conjointly charged before Mr. J. W. Poynton, SM., tiia morning , with the theft of goods valued at £427 10/, the greater portion .of which was the property of the Union Steam Shipping Co. The goods alleged to have been stolen comprised a case of ladies' hosiery, a bale of blankets and rugs, a case of Bell's matches, 651 yards of serge, a case of canned pears, and one package of dress material. The dates of the alleged thefts extend over a period from -June 15 to August 29. The accused were remanded for a week, bail being allowed in two sureties each of £200
