UNIONS NOTIFIED.
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, Thursday. The resignation of Mr. J. A. McCullough from the position of workers' representative on the Arbitration Court has reached the Minister of Labour, and will be forwarded in due course to the Governor-General. It will take effect when his Excellency notifies its acceptance.
Arrangements for electing a Labour, representative to fill the vacancy have ■been put in train -by the Department of Labour. Notification of the resignation has 'been sent out to the various
unions, which have been asked to submit nomination of a successor. The nominations will close on October 7, and the result of the election should be available -within a few days from that date.
