In the Manawatu ladips' golf championship semi-flnals Miss Wright (Timaru) beat Miss Gambrill Ollramar), 6 up and 5 to play; Mrs. Williams (Wairarapa) beat Miss L. Brandon (Wellington). 2 up and 1 to play. In the final Mrs. Williams, who was two down at the nluth, caught Miss Wrlent at the 14th, and was one up at the 15tn. The game was squared atrain at the 17th, and carried right to the 20tb, where Miss Wright failed in a short approach, and was beaten after a close and exciting contest. HAWKE'S BAY CHAMPIONSHIP. (By TelegrapTi.—Press Association.) NAPIKK, Thursday. In the semi-final of the Hawke's Bay amateur golf championship, H. E. Orosee (Napier) beat N. Bull (Gißborne), 6 up and 5 'to play. D. Collins (Featberston) beat J. B. Lusk (Auckland), 1 up at the twentieth hole. The Una] between Crossed and Collins will be played to-morrow. The teams match was won by Poverty Bay 336, Napier No. 1 348, Wanganui 355, Napier No. 2 BU3.
