CRICKET.
NORTH SHCKRiHJ CLCB. The annual meeting of the abore club ■was held In Ford's tearooms, Devouport. The meeting was well attended, a pleasing feature being the large number of past members who stated tneir Intention of rallying round the club. The balancesheet showed the club to be on the right aide of the ledger. The prospects for a good season have never been brighter, and patrons of the club can look forward to an interesting reason's erieset. Towards tbte end the olub have engaged the services of Mr. Maltby, who has had considerable experience in the Home Country, to act as ■ groundsman and coach. Players and sun- : porters of the game are invited to throw their lot in with the club and help push the game on. The election of officers resulted:—President, Dr. H. C. Bennett; vice-presidents, same as last year; hon. secretary, Mr. K. E. Frater; assistant secretary, Mr. A. H., Scott; bon. auditors, Messrs. R. Clarke and W. Walker; committee, Messrs. L. Dacre, L. Hemus, F. Stoupe, A. Rankin, F. Eyre, C. Stone, and J. Nettleton; delegates A.C.A., .Messrs. L. Hemus, R. Clarke and H. Richards; selection committee, Messrs. L. Dacre, L. Hemus and Buck; social committee, Messrs. L. Elliott, H. Richards and R. Clarke. V.M.C.A. CLUB. The annual meeting of the above club •was held at the rooms on Thureday eventog. The general secretary. Mr. R. M. Brasted, was in tie chair, and there was a large and enthusiastic muster of members. The report of last season showed that the second grade team had won the championship, sustaining only one defeat, while the third grade team qualified for the final round of their competition.
