SCHOOL BOOKS SUPPLY.
STATEMENT BY MINISTER. In a letter to the Wellington Central Chamber of Commerce on the subject of the supply of school books the Hon. C. J. Parr, Minister of Education, says: "I would certainly not approve of any arrangement regarding the supply of school books unless it could be clearly shown that on a business basis an equally efficient system of distribution could be devised and a definite saving in expenses secured. "I have already under consideration tho question of standardising school books with the object of saving unnecessary expenditure, irrespective of whatever system of providing books may be adopted. Your association may be assured that full consideration -will be given to all the business aspects of the matter before any action is taken."
