LABOUR CONFERENCE.
WORK AXD IMMIGRATION". (By Telegraph.—Press Association.! WELLINGTON, Wednesday. A conference of Labour organisations, convened by the Alliance of Labour, assembled in the Tradee Hall to-day to discuss questions of unemployment "and immigration. There were 72 Relegates preeent, representing workers throughout the Dominion. 'Mr. W. J. Mack, secretary of the Amalgamated Society of Railway Servants, presided. Mr. J. Roberts, secretary of the Waterside Workers' Federation, was appointed secretary. The conference is not open to the Press. The proceedings are likely to last for several days, as it is intended to frame definite proposals regarding both subjects under consideration.
