OBITUARY.
MRS. MARY SIMSON. FIVE SOLDIER SOX?. An old highly respected former resident of Auckland, Mrs. Mary Simson, died on Saturday at Clive Orange, near Napier, after a'short illness. For the last few years Mrs. Simson has resided at that nlaep. hut previously was in Auckland for a long period. Deceased was born in Glasgow SI years ago, and went out to Australia with her parents when throe years of ace. She was raniried to Mr. Ueetor Xornian Simson iil years ugi>. and the whole of their married life was spent in New Zealand. Mr, Simson was the mother "f ten children, of whom seven survive her. Five of her sons saw active service during the late war—a big record for one family. Capt. Donald Simeon is now secretary to Lord Haig; Captain Hector Siinson served in the African campaign, and ,, also in France; Lieut. Herbert Rlnwon, who wan a member of the Royal Flying Corps, and died on his way to Xew Zealand after the war ended; and Lieut. Rupert Simson, who served in France. The other children aro Messrs. 11. Lan and J. A. Simson {Hustings), Norman Simson (Sydney), and Mrs. Arthur Bullock, of Auckland. Deceased Is also survived by her husband. A charming, amiable lady, Mrs, Simson was niucli respected by her many friends. The interment was private, at Havelock Xorth cemetery.
