CO-OPERATIVE WORKS.
MEN EMPLOYED LAST MONTH. TOTAL OF 3,647. A total of 3.(547 men were engaged in co-operative works throughout the Dominion during last month. Of these 2.042 were employed in the North Island, the balance 'being in the South. Railway works absorbed 1,956, of whom 1 054 were distributed throughout this isi.oid. Of the 'balance 1,104 were enga" ;1 in road works, the North Island's to; ! 'being S4S, while hydro-electric works absorbed f>27, this island's total being 440.
