A WORLD-WIDE MOVEMENT CAUSE OF PRESENT SLUMP. (Received 10.3(1 a.in.l LONDON, March 27. According to a detailed statement o the present situation issued by thi National Employers' Federation, thi consumers' strike, which is defined as £ curious world-wide psychological move ment which suddenly induced millions o people in all countries, largely uneon sciously. to refrain from buying unti they could buy cheaper, is held to bi largely responsible for the present slump although European inflation of eurrencj and inability to export on account oi low production are not overlooked. Th< report expresses the opinion that tin cost of living will be reduced to 0(1 pel cent above the pre-war level by the end of the year.— (Reuter.)
