SHUNTER GUILTY OF NEGLIGENCE, j ißy Telegraph.—Press i NELSON', this day. j The finding at the inquest on (!eo. Wil- j Ham Bulford, who died from injuries re- j reived through being run over by a rail- ' way truck during shunting, was to the : effect that the shunter's (Kinlock's) duty was to keep a constant lookout when approaching the wharf; that he should have seen the men on the wharf before they were struck. The coronor said he would not carry the matter further, but it was his duty to send a copy of the depositions to the Attorney-General. George William Bulford was run over by a train at the Port of Nelson last Wednesday, and died in the hospital. Deceased and two companions were reading a paper on the wharf, when the train backed into them. One was thrown clear. Another. 0. E. Soott. had the presence of mind to lie still between the rails while part of the train passed over him, and thus escaped uninjured. Bulford was thrown across the rails.
