The animal meeting of the council of the Coal and Shale Employees' Kederation carried a motion of want of confidence in the Ministry for its failure to reinstate the strikers who were victimised in 1917. | It was also decided to make the following demands on the coal owners 6f New Zealand: Six-hour shift from bank to bank, a fortnight's holiday on full pay, and a five-day week.A New Zealand delegate was present at the meeting, and explained the position as it exists in the Dominion.—(A. and N.Z.
