■ • ißy Telegraph. — Press Association.) TIMARU, this day. The trial aerial Tixnaru-Christchurch mail service was inaugurated to-day. The aeroplane accomplished the journey in 1 hour 50 minutes, arriving 9.40 a.m., after having stopped over Ashburton to drop and pick up a bag. An altitude of 500 to 1000 yards was maintained in a strong head wind with clear weather after leaving Ashburton. Over 200 letters and a bundle of newspapers were carried. The plarje returned here at noon.
