OBITUARY.
MR. T. MONTGOMERY. DARGAVILLE, Friday. Mr. Thomas Montgomery, aged 76, died at his residence, Mititai, last night. He arrived at Auckland 56 years ago in the ship Dauntless. He was born aft Inniskillen in 1845, and was on the goldfields in the early days of gold mining in the North and South Islands. He was in charge of a section of the railway between Christchurch and Dunedin when the line was being built. He was a pioneer of the Northern Wairoa, and for 40 years had been fanning at Mititai. He leaves a widow and a family of eleven, all living in tue district, while he loat two sons in the war.
OLD KAiWifflA RESIDENT. A very old resident of Kawnia, Mrs. Jane Naz«r, died at Kaiwhia yesterday. She was a daughter of the late John Charlton, one of the early pioneers of Kawhia, and was 'born at that place on February 25. IS£3. She was the widow of the late R'chard Xazer.
