DOMESTIC TRAGEDY.

HTSBAXD AND WIFE hTJOT. A dome-tie tragedy, involving the death of the husband and the serious wounding of his wife, took place at Gore Hill. Sydney, on the 18th inst. The details so far show that Frank Rames and his wife, Lily Barnes, had nnt been living together. Shortly after two o'clock the wife, who had been working, was going home along Oshorne Park Road when she met her husband. Apparently a quarrel took place after a short conversation. It ia believed that Barnes struck his wife, and then, as the sound of shots was heard, she fell with two bullets in the left shoulder. As the woman lay wounded and bleeding. Barnes turned and tied about 300 yards into the hush. He shot himself in the centre of the forehead. The police found a five-chambered re volver, with three empty shells and two live ones in it. The Civil Ambulance took Mrs. Barnes to the Royal North Shore Hospital. Her condition was not serious.
