SOLDIERS MOTHERS' LEAGUE.
The following cablegram has been forwarded to the Prime -Minister, England•Soldiers Mothers' League, New Zealand] protest against Winston Churchill's appointment Colonial Office. Remember Gallipoli."
This was moved aad seconded by mothers who had lost, sons al-Gallipoli Landing, and another similar sufferer moved that the cost of the cable be raised, in the room, which was agreed to This was the outcome of the following resolution passed by the 1-eague vested day afternoon:—'"'.That this .goldiers Mothers' League '.strongly protests against the appointment of Mr. Winston Churchill to the Colonial Office. His fatal blunder in the unsuccessful naval attack on tie Dardanelles preceding the land attack by two or three days sealed the doom of the majority of our Anzac New Zealand soldiers who fell without a chance of defence upon the shores of Gallipoli on the 25th of April, 1915.'-
It was decided to send an abbreviated cable to tlie Prime Minister, England: "'As the success of the Allied arms was the result of unity upon the battlefields, this meeting expresses the opinion that burials of deceased soldiers should be carried out on lines indicating simQar principles as a mark of our wish to carry the spirit of unity which existed among the soldiers even unto the grave, and respectfully requests the Government to have all burials carried out without a.ny signs to indicate religious denominational boundaries or differences in our soldiers' cemeteries."
