NEW ATTACK ON POLAND
BOIiSHEVIK ACTIVITX. RUMANIA HAS SUSPICIONS. (Received 10.30 a.m.) BUCHAREST, January 28. Eumania has ordered fhe right bank of the Dniester to be declared in a state of siege, and has prohibited traffic to cross the river. It is stated that the Bolshevike are continuing to mass troops on the left bank of the river, and are preparing for a new offensive against Poland by way of Tarnopol and Lemberg. (A. and N.Z. Cable.) MILITARY AMJAHTCE. NEW YOEK, January 28. The Paris correspondent of the "Chicago Tribune" is authoritatively informed that Eumania and Poland have formed a military alliance for mutualprotection in the .event of a Bolshevik attack on Bukowina or Bessarabia. It is understood that the Bolsheviks have abandoned their original intention to attack Rumania.—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
