MR. GEORGE FALLA RETIRES.
RAiDWAY SERVICE OF 41 YEARS
After 41 years' service in the Railway Department, Mr. George 'Falla, who liae been etatiwrmaster in Auckland for nearly six years, has retired, and on Saturday the railway staff made him a presentation of a handsome oak writingdesk and a travelling rug for Mrs. Falla. In handing over tfhc gifts. Mr. L. •(.'. K. Hamann, formerly of Auckland, and now assistant-traffic manager at Christchurch, spoke of Mr. Falla's sterling service to the Department, and his unvarying courtesy to the travelling public.
Among those who were present on Saturday when the gifts were handed to Mr. Falla. and referred k> hie good work, were Mr. W. Harding, relieving stationmaster, Mr. E. A. Dan-son, of Thorndon (who had been associated with the recipient for the past thirty year.-), several members of the local staff, and Mr. G. Rudd, superintendent of maih at the Auckland Post Office.
