WELLINGTON, this day.
The British Trade Commissioner, Mr. R. W. Dalton, has been in cable communication with the Department of Overseas Trade, London, with a view to securing official information regarding economic conditions in the United Kingdom. A cablegram that reached him to-day describes the situation briefly: "Deflation and credit restrictions at Home, combined with the temporary congested state of the markets abroad, have stopped the extension of trade experienced early this year."
The messages continues: "Unemployment has. increased gradually. Dull conditions are likely to last for a few months without any sensational collapse, and with a fair prospect of recovery ncx/ year."
