GREEK INGRATITUDE.

ALLIES' SHARP NOTE.

RATIFICATION OF DISLOYALTY. (By Cable.—Press __ocUtlon.—Cepyrtcht.) LONDON, December 3. It has been officially announced that at the conclusion of the conference to-day between Mr. Lloyd George, M. Leyguea (Frencn foreign Minister), and Count Sforza (Italian Foreign Minister), the three Governments sent a joint message to the Greek Government stating that they had been painfully surprised, after what they had done to assist Greece in the attainment of her secular aspirations, at the recent events in Greece. They did not wish to interfere in her internal affairs, but were bound to declare publicly that the restoration of ex-King Constantine, whose disloyal conduct in war-time hod caused the Allies great embarrassment and loss, could be regarded only as a ratification of his hostile acts, and would create • new unfavourable situation between Greece and the Allies. Tlie three Governments would in such event reserve complete liberty to deal with such situation.

Replying to questions in the House of Commons regarding the Note to.Greece, Mr. A. Bonar Law said: —"If the Greek people choose to take a step- we deplore, we and our allies have no intention of resorting to hostile action, in the sense of force, to prevent them giving effect to it."—(A. and N.Z. Cable.)
