"THE DARK AVENUE."
THE SERIAL OF THE HOUR
The title is certainly an attractive one for a serial story: it is suggestive ol mystery and adventure. But if Fergus Hume ha*? been fortunate in his selection oi" a title, he lives up to it in the thrilling interest of tiie story, that is as good as anything that this favourite writer has given us since he first jumped into fame with that classic of sensational fiction "The Mystery of a Hansom Cab." The novel concerns itself with the succession tn Beysham Abbey, and the trrit-er keeps the reader in a constant mental turmoil as to the author and meaning of the mysterious events with which the historic dark avenue is associated. Next Saturday you will have the opportunity of reading the first instalment, and you are particularly advised not to overlook "The Dark Avenue.'
