The third, of the series of special meetings for teachers arranged by the Auckland Sunday School Cnion was hold in the Pitt Street Methodist Schoolroom ■last evening. Mr. J. Bycroft presided. An address was given- hy the Rev. W. A. Burley on "The Vilue and Place of Sunday School Teacliing. - ' The meeting divided into Bible' class and junior sections. The leader in the Bible class section wae Mise B. Mill, and a discussion took place on '"How to bring a closer connection between the Bible Class and Sunday School." Mr. L. E. Falkner gave an address on "The Art of Illustration." To-night the Rev. L. B. Busfield is to give an address on "Leading Young People to Christ." In the intermediate section the subject is to be "Our Work Outside the fcScbool." Mr. D. Holland is to speak on -work amongst boys, and Sister Douglas on work amongst girls. A primary demonstration of "Expression Work" i»*to be given by Miss Bridgeman, of the Y.W.OA. During the hearing of a case at the Magistrate's Court to-day the question of the difference between an architect's estimate for a house and the tenders received for the building »va» commented upon by counsel. Mr. J. W. Poynton, .S.M., however, said an architect" could not control tjie market. Counsel argued that an architect was «m expert, therefore his estimate should be near the figure of tenderers. His Worship said he iemembered in the Public Trust tenders being- called for work carefully estimated to cost £10,000. The tenders received were from £ 16,000 to £20,000.
