Sir Thomas Hughes (chairman of directors of the Amalgamated Wireless, Limited, informed a mooting of shareholders that the company has undertaken to have direct service between England and Australia within two years. It has offered to handle all classes of messages at one-third of the existing rates and to give the Commonwealth 25 per cent of the profits.
