COMSUMPTIVE ACCOMMODATION
OBJECTION TO COSTLEY SHELTERS.
Tlic accommodation of consumptives was the subject of discussion at the meeting of the Auckland Hospital and Charitable Aid Board last evening, presiaed over by Mr. W. Wallace. A correspondent wrote expressing hope that pressure would be .brought to bear on the Government for provision in this matter. Commenting on the Costley Home shelters the letter stated that these were depressing in the extreme. Mr. Ma<>kay said the trouble lay in the fact that the shelters were associated with the Costley Home. • The shelters themselves were far better than at To Waikato. He suggested a change of name, and notice was accordingly fr:'ven of moving at the .next meeting of the board the change of the name Costley Shelters to "Auckland Chest Hospital." Wth regard to the accommodation of consumptives it was decided that a reply be sent to the correspondent stating that no other arrangements could be made.
