Jaiiles, oil arrival here, met representatives of the State Miners' Cnion and ihe Railway Department hi , (inference. A settlement of tlie strike was effected after considerable discussion. The terms are those originally submitted to the department concerned by the Miners' Union on "Wednesday last, providing for miners' trains departing and returning not curlier than 0.35 a.m. or later than 4.40 p.m. respectively and being purely passenger trains. Suburban fare rntes are to apply. The union at Runanga met later and accepted the terms of settlement unanimously, and agreed to resume work tomorrow morning.
