"The First La-w" Is a gripping photo.-play featuring Irene Castle anil Antonio Moreno. Larry Semor is the star performer in the comedy film "The Grocery Clerk." "THE END OF THE ROAD." A private showing of the film, "The End of the Iload," starring Richard Bennett and Claire Adams, wilt be given at the Strand Theatre on Thursday morning at 10.15, but the public showings will not be liegun until Saturday. Invitations were mailed yesterday to the leading physicians, health officers, divines, heads of civic and welfare organisations, as well as the Mayor and leading city officials. Tbis widely discussed motion picture was produced as part of the campaign to control avoidable sex diseases by E. H. Griffith. It was conceived especially as a lesson to women by Dr. Katherine Bennett, formerly CoininisKioner of Correction of New York City. The picture ha? been passed by the New Zealand Censor as belnz suitable for adult audiences, but children under the age of .fourteen will not be admitted. The box plan for the opening night is now open at the Strand office. The pre-view will mark the first appearance of this film in New Zealand.
