Mr. H. C. Banks has been re-elected chairman of the Auckland Education Board. Professor W. S. Vernon, of Auckland University College, left en roftte for Dunedin by last night's express. Mr. W. G. McDonald, chairman of the Board of Trade, arrived from Wellington by the express yesterday. Mr. S. J. Ambury, chairman of £ho Auckland Farmers' Freezing Co., was a passenger for Wellington by the express yesterday. Mr. Joseph Wareham, who died afe Lyttelton last Saturday, aged ninety years, was born in Boston, Massachusetts, and was ! n receipt of a pension for service in the navy during the American civil war. Mr. R. B. Reynolds, of thr Wellington post office staff, has been elected to the Post and Telegraph Anneal Board, in j succession to Mr. C. G. Camp, who retired upon being transferred to anothef department of the Public Service.
