MOTOR TRAFFIC.
(Tγ. the Editor.) Sir, —As a visitor to your city I hare been much, struck at the manner in which motor cars drive past stationary tram cara whilst the latter are taking up or putting down passengers. I n Wellington this is not permiesible, and I cannot understand why the same regulation is not adopted here. The system i£ far ' superior to the safety zone idea, which might answer iv etreets double the ' width. ' I would also like to point out a deathtrap, and that is Grafton Bridge, where it is certain there will bo a disaster owing to pedestrians not thoroughly understanding the necessity of keeping to the right-hand pathway. It is courting disaster to step into the narrow roadway. The writer has seen tyro cars frantically racing each other at nifht across the Bridge, and cxi essive speed k not uncommon. —I am, etc., SAFETY.
