The cost of the' various functions in connection wit,h tho recent visit of tho Prince of Wales to Auckland, totalled £24,669. The City Council, on behalf of the respective local bodies, has now applied .or the subsidy due from the Government in connection with this expenditure. When that is received the 'balance to be paid will be allocated amongst t,he various local bodies. Auckland City will bear sixty per cent of the balance to be paid after d-eduction of the subsidy.
