The weather was dull and s-owei- fell at intervals during tihe day. The track was in a heavy state. The sum of £68.102 10/ was put through the totalisator, making £213.47,") for the meeting, ns compared with £1(17.341 last year. The • following were the later results:— SYDENHAM HURDLES. Two miles. Fisher and Deviation led over the first hurdle. .Deviation then drew out. and passing tihe stand was well clear of Fisher, <Meltchi_o_ and Kauri King. Fisher retired at the" seven furlong posit, where Kauri King nnd Jack Symonds were the nearest attendants on Deviation, which still had a lead of six lengths. Deviation hit the second last hurdle, and on racing for the straight was joined by Knurl King, wilh Jack Symonds handy. Kauri King had the race in hnnd at the last imrdlc. and won by three lengths, Deviation beating Jack Svmons by a length, with Meltchlkoff. Fisher and Thrace following In that order. Sebastian took charge going nut of the j straight, Ooklelgh dropping back. Merry j Lad lost his rider at the post and rails, and Coalition fell at the sod wall. Onklelgh falling over him. Crib then joined San Sebastian, and drawing out on reaching the straight, won by six lengths. Ormesby was a dozen lengths away, third. Time, 6.22 2-5. REDCLIFFS HANDICAP. Seven furlongs.
