The Rhodes scliolaraliip candidate from Otogo University is H. J. Ryburn. who won a Junior University Scholarship, Senior University Scholarship in mathematics, and the Beverley Scholarship in advanced mathematics. He is a representative hockey player and is connected with various University societies. The jury sitting at the Supreme Court yesterday failed to agree on their verdict in the case of Thomas S. R, Fletcher (Mr. Pren'derga3t), who was tried on a charge of assaulting a Chinaman at Onehunga with intent to rob. \ new trial was ordered for nest week.
