Mr. E. J. Howard, M.P., has resigned from Canterbury Repatriation Board. I The Rev. W._ Todd has been elected moderator of Christchurch Presbytery. J Lord Plunket, formerly Governor of 2\ew Zealand, left unsettled personal estate in the United Kingdom valued at £12,4G5. Mr. E. Phelan, of the Prices Investigation Tribunal, and Mr. E. Carter, local officer of the Tribunal, left for Rotorua this morning. Mr. X. H. Hanna Tvas admitted as a ■barrister by .Mr. Justice Cooper at the Supreme Court on the application of Mr. J. R. Reed, K.C. Colonel G. F. C. Campbell, Secretary and Paymaster-General of the Xew Zealand Treasury, jhae arrived in England !on his mission to make inquiries on i certain financial matters on behalf of the Dominion. Mr. J. W. Wiseman, managing director lof J. Wiseman and Sons, Ltd., is now in : 1/igla.nd with |his wife. They have toured I the United States, and hope to return to J New Zealand about the middle of December, via Suez. Mr. M. G. Pezaro, B.Sc., son of Mr. IG. Pezaro, of Auckland, tied for first : place in physiology at the Glasgow ' University, out of 600 students. Mr. Pezaro gained a certificate of distinc- , tion. While at the front he won an overseas scholarship, and is now •studying medicine at the Glasgow University. Captain George Hooper, of the ~SJZ. Government Marine Department, who I has been in England in connection with ! the selection of a suitable war vessel to replace the boys' training ship Amoknra, returns to the. Dominion per b.s. !
