SUBURBAN TRAIN SERVICE.
(To the Editor.) Sir, —The 5.17 p.m. Auckland-Papakura train, due at Papakura at 6.23, arrived there last night (Thursday) at 7 p.m. In consequence 235 people arrived home I 37 minutes late. The official reason given was the disrepair of the engine and the consequent lack of steam. The condition of much of the Department's plant must be even worse than was feared. —I am, etc., JOB.
