MARTIAL LAW IN IRELAND.
FEDERAL MEMBER'S PROTEST. MELBOURNE, July 2. In the Federal House of Representatives Mr. Mahou gave notice of a. motion deploring the sjtate of martial law in Ireland, and stating that the House is Cf 'opinion that the situation thus created is ininiieal to the Empire, and conflicts with the theory that Britain entered the late war to vindicate and preserve the lilx-rty of small nations copies of the resolution to be forwarded to the British Cm ernment. Mr. Wilson, and the secretary of the CouneU of the League of Nations. — (A. and X.Z.)
