A. BIG DEFICIT. (Received 2 p.m.) CAPETOWN, May 24. In the House of Assembly, Sir Thomas , Watt, Minister of Public Works, stated f that for the year ended March 30 the i Sways showed a deficit of £617,000, though increased rates since 1916 produced £6,000,000 sterling. It was m, tended to erect grain elevators at ban, Capetown, and inland towks, capable of dealing with 1,260,000 tons.—(AVand N.Z. Cable.) j
