CARRANZA'S MURDER.
PURSUIT OF ASSAILANTS.
DEATH PENALTY ORDERED. (By CaWe.—Press Association.— Copyright.) (Received 10.30 a.m.) MEXICO City, May 24. The Revolutionary Government posse has been sent to pursue Carranza'g murderers. The death penalty has been" ordered when they are caught. The new Government has proved that it had no complicity in the assassination orders being given that no harm should be done to the? ex-President. The funeral will be a private one. Details of the death of General Carranza (ex-President of Mexico) are not yet clear. The most reliable information indicates that Carranza with seven followers, was killed in a surprise attack by General Herrera's forces, which had pledged their allegiance to Carranza. The Government of General Obregon •which now controls Mexico, has declared ■jte deep sorrow at the assassination, and hae censured Carranza's bodyguards for
failing to protect the ex-President.
Mexico City is in mourning. A special i train has been ordered to bring in the body, which will lie in state.— (A. and N.Z. Cable.)
