LEAGUE OF LITERATURE.
J2Z& SI«S Street Congregational Church is the League of Literature inaugurated some years ago by the Rev. Frederic Warner. The opening of the fifth session last night in Bereslord Hall was an unqualified success. Professor Maxwell Walker gave a most interesting address for twenty minutes upon fehakespeare. and his influence upon the literature of the world. The Key. Percy Knight claimed that Dante was the greatest of an "elisions poets, and the Rev. Isaac Jolly claimed for Kobert Burns that he was the greatest lyric poet the world had (per The Rev. A. B. Chappell said although Milton was neglected now the study of his work in bysone years had greatly influenced the language of to-day. The lectnrettes were interspersed with musical selections by Mr. and Mrs. Leather. The Bey. Frederic Warner presided.
