MOUNT HOBSON CROQUET CLUB. THE ANNUAL MEETING. The annual meeting of the Mount Hobßon Tromipt Club attracted a larse attendnnct if mombere Mrs. F. Th< towns were In splendid order and wen most favourably commented on by th< members of the various other clubs whe Sayed on them during the Auckland Asso Nation championship, the lawns havtoi i'»<in lent for the tournament. As a toKei of appreciation Mrs. Furze, of Hamilton one of the competitors in the tournament had forwarded two trophies for competl tlon by the club next season. During th< season the president (Mrs Clark) gave i most enjoyable "At Home," when progres ilve croquet was played, the trophies beln Won by Mesdames Worthlngton and Kai rtUhar (A) and Mesdames Cork and Payn iw> Several social functions had been he!, iur'lns the winter months, which were ver successful, and greatly assisted the nuance In the inter-club matches the club wa represented by both A and B teams, an though the A team did not succeed in holi Lng the championship, won tho prcvlot season, they were third on the list, whic under the circumstances was very sratlfj Ing. resulted: Championship, Mrs. Harbntt: handicap doubles, Mesdames Taylor and Luke; handicap singles. Miss Wright; players over 3i bisques, Mrs. Ritchie and Miss Hodge. The finances of the club were In a sound position, for after writing off a substantial sum for depreciation the assets were greatly in excess of the liabilities. It was unanimously decided to raise the annual subscription to £i 8A „ , The election of officers resulted: President Mrs C. H. Jones; vice-presidents, i Mesdames Harbntt and Worthlngton; hon. secretary, Mra. Hood; hon. treasurer, Mrs. Badrley: committee, Mesdames Harvey, Surer. Henderson, Rossiter, ltitchie, aud Buchanan.
