HELENSVILLE-HAMILTON ROAD
KfITCAIi COMMISSION SET UP.
The Minister pf Public Works has set up a Royal Commission to report re the route, construction, and maintenance'of the main road between. Helens* ville and Hamilton. The follow is tha order of reference:— (lj .He beet route for tlie main road from Helensville to Hamilton.
(2) The class of road construction most euitatole to meet the of modern traffic on such road.
(3) The estimated cost of construe* tion or reconstruction of such road.
(4) The ability of the local bodies iv« terested or concerned to provide ' ilhe cost of construction, reconstruction, or, future maintenance.
(6) What legislation, if any, is necessary or expedient in relation thereto. The' fallowing are the members of the Commission:—Messrs. W. S. Short, ES.O, (late Under-Secretary for IPuWie Worie), lAsMey John Hunter, GE., Alex D." Bell (Clevedon), and Claude Motion (Waiuku). 1 Mr. Short -will be chairman. Mr. Bell, chairman of Manukau County Council, has ■been nominated Iby local bodies interested.
